Whey Operative
Leprino is seeking to appoint a Whey Operator on a permanent basis. The role is based at the Magheralin site working within the packing department. The successful candidates will be required to efficiently operate in accordance with the daily make plan, and be confident working in a fast paced stores environment involving the use of trucks, paperwork and following H&S
The successful candidates will be required to:
- Oversee operation of the Whey plant from a PC, including the loading of Tankers and general cleaning and upkeep of the plant
- Comply with all PSOPs and safe working practices.
- Monitor product and process performance and carrying out all necessary quality tests.
- Make appropriate process and quality adjustments to ensure product compliance with internal and external standards.
- Effectively communicate with all appropriate personnel within your sphere of responsibility.
- Assist QA operators in product release / hold duties when requested by your Team Leader.
The successful candidates must have:
Essential:
- Minimum of 6 months relevant work experience within a production or manufacturing environment
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills
- Knowledge of standards, equipment and/or processes within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and what constitutes a safe place of work.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to display initiative and apply problem solving and planning skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Commitment to quality.
- Flexibility and adaptable to change
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour, continental shifts with weekend and night shift work included.
Desirable:
- English, Maths GCSE/O Level or equivalent min of C Grade.
- Relevant experience in food / dairy manufacturing and production.
- Knowledge of equipment and processes within the food / dairy production environment.
