Our client, a leading manufacturing and production organisation in NI, is seeking an experienced and hands-on IT professional to oversee and enhance their hardware and infrastructure operations. About the Role:
In this position, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day support and lifecycle management of all IT hardware assets across multiple operational sites. From production-critical devices like scanners and terminals, to network infrastructure, virtual environments and cloud-based services, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring all systems run efficiently and securely. You’ll collaborate closely with the wider IT function to deliver strategic upgrades, manage vendor relationships, and deliver front-line support and improvements across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Act as the first line of support for IT hardware and software issues, providing professional support in person, over the phone and by email.

Take full responsibility for tracking and managing all IT assets, ensuring accurate records and timely maintenance.

Deliver support for production-based IT hardware including PDAs, printers, terminals and specialist equipment.

Perform hands-on installation, upgrades, diagnostics and configuration across all user and infrastructure devices.

Identify root causes through trend analysis and propose effective solutions to mitigate recurring issues.

Lead maintenance activities including workstation inspections, preventative checks and system tuning.

Support users in their adoption of new technology by delivering clear, tailored training sessions.

Manage cloud and hybrid infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Active Directory, Hyper-V and SharePoint.

Assist with disaster recovery planning, backup management and endpoint compliance.

Work closely with the Head of IT on project delivery, infrastructure improvements and network security.
What We’re Looking For:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

A strong understanding of end-user hardware, servers, and infrastructure technologies.

Solid experience managing virtualised environments and hybrid cloud platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, Azure HCI).

Hands-on exposure to Microsoft 365 ecosystem, Azure services, SharePoint and endpoint management tools.

Skilled in Active Directory administration and Windows-based systems (server and desktop).

Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues with minimal supervision.

Confidence working with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers) and backup tools.

Effective communicator, capable of explaining technical concepts to users at all levels.

Highly organised with strong documentation habits and a proactive approach to support delivery.
