Due to continued growth and sustaining new and exciting projects, the position of Assistant Quantity Surveyor has become available in Lagan MEICA Ltd, to work alongside our existing commercial and site teams. This role is based in Belfast, and will require travel within the UK.
What youll do
Some of your main duties will include;
- Provide commercial support to aid with the delivery of Lagan MEICA contracts.
- Provision of accurate and timely reports to the management team whilst assisting with ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets
- Ensure that all reporting is accurate and completed to agreed timescales
- Maintain and coordinate all commercial reports required for the successful commercial management of the contract
- Management of site material and labour trackers with accurate and accessible information
- Ensure the accuracy of all commercial data
- Support the management team with regards procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Preparation of all Sub-Contract documentation ensuring all main contract provisions have been sufficiently passed through to the supply chain to ensure risk is mitigated, and to ensure that any additional risks have been covered
- Timely payment administration of all subcontractor accounts, in line with the payment schedule and contract conditions
- Timely and accurate monthly reporting on subcontractor liabilities, to ensure current and forecasted cost is captured
- Assist with maximising value recovery, identifying, raising and pricing of variations in line with the change control process.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.

What youll bring
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor it is essential to have;
- BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline);
- At least 1 years experience working in a Quantity Surveying role, carrying out relevant tasks independently;
- A good understanding of Standards Form of Contract (for example NEC);
- IT Literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Microsoft Excel;
- Full Driving License that permits driving in the UK and access to a vehicle for work travel.
It would also be desirable to;
- Be currently working towards, or willing to commence working towards, professional membership of an appropriate organisation (for example RICS/ICES)

- Communication communicate effectively with people in all positions, adapting communication style where required and ensure all information is understood;
- Commercial Awareness understand the commercial and financial issues facing our projects, identifying risks, escalating and mitigating these appropriately.
