The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of projects, turning high-level product specifications into detailed, functional, and cost-effective engineering solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide support through prototyping and testing, and help introduce innovative new products while improving existing systems.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of assigned engineering projects

Translate system and functional requirements into detailed design solutions

Create innovative designs for new products, service improvements, and performance upgrades

Ensure all designs comply with legislation, safety, quality, and cost targets

Produce accurate technical drawings, BOMs, and documentation

Support prototype builds and testing activities

Investigate and resolve product failures with root cause analysis and corrective actions

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across product lines

Collaborate effectively with colleagues across engineering and production

Adhere to ISO9001 quality processes and health & safety standards
About You
Essential:
-
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
-
Proficient in 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks or similar)

Strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work under pressure
-
A hands-on, practical approach with a passion for engineering

Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Desirable:

Experience in product development for vehicles, machinery, or metal fabrication

Familiarity with testing and prototyping processes
