The Role
As a key part of the design team, you’ll take ownership of projects within the GSE product line driving innovation, improving design performance, and ensuring material and cost efficiency. From initial concepts through to final drawings and manuals, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop bespoke GSE vehicles and metal products using tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Ensure all drawings meet accuracy, quality, and consistency standards

Liaise with production teams to support build processes and improvements

Create 3D models, cut lists, jigs, and documentation for engineers and customers

Log and manage design issues, supporting continuous improvement across the product range

Conduct stress analysis and strength calculations for mechanical components

Select appropriate materials to meet project and customer requirements

Contribute to ISO 9001 quality processes and uphold health & safety standards

Prepare technical documentation including design specs and procurement details
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years experience in a mechanical design role within metal fabrication

Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and technical drawing
-
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Strong understanding of material selection and type approval processes

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Strong IT proficiency including Microsoft Office

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure

Committed to high standards of quality and safety
Desirable:

Experience with hydraulics and electrics
-
Previous work designing vehicles, trailers, crushers, screeners, or similar equipment
