We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and aiding in the day-to-day managing of projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires exceptional project and programme management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.

The engineering services we offer to our clients require us to be able to deliver in an agile and future-facing environment. The following are examples of the type of responsibilities and requirements sought working as part of our multidisciplinary water / wastewater team.

Support the Lead NEC PM in Undertaking the NEC4 Project Manager requirements delegated by the named NEC4 Project Manager

Accepting detailed contractor designs for Construction as part of the enabling process

Checking Works are Constructed in accordance with Contract Requirements.

Ensuring implementation of CDM regulations and implementation of appropriate Health and Safety procedures Supporting the H&S Advisor in their duties.

Managing the enabling and design phase of work packages in conjunction with Contractors and the clients operations staff

Participating in Decision Management meetings to ascertain the optimum rehabilitation technologies to be used for each scheme.

Assist with developing budgets for individual schemes.

Managing the construction phase of projects in conjunction with Contractors, NEC Supervisors and the client.

Liaising with Road Service DFI Roads, other Utilities and other major stakeholders.

Ensuring Appropriate Site Records are Maintained and recording all circumstances relevant to actual/potential CEs

Support the Supervisor in review of Contractors Proposals for Undertaking the Works including Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Testing and Commissioning the Works and witnessing commissioning

Check and record progress against the agreed programme of works for each project.

Maintain the register of data returns required to assist project completion such as record drawings, H+&S file, correction of notified defects, MEICA works and test/commissioning records.

Assist in the resolution of customer complaints

Your Purpose:

  • Suitable qualification in construction and/or extensive experience of role requirements.

Appropriate H&S experience and/or appropriate qualifications. E.g. Valid CSCS or equivalent certification.
Proactive commitment to health and safety.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

What you can Bring:

  • Educated to degree level with a civil engineering bias.

Professionally Qualified Member of a recognised engineering institution. (CEng/IEng etc).
Demonstrable experience within the Water sector. Other civil engineering experiences (energy, maritime, geotechnical, industrial) would also be relevant.
Having excellent written and verbal skills when communicating with stakeholders, including technical and non-technical parties is essential.
Experience of Construction Project Management using NEC Suite of Contracts.
Previous experience working on UK Water frameworks.
