A well-established food manufacturer in the Downpatrick area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Lead to join their engineering department. This is a hands-on, dual-skilled role leading a small team across day and night shifts in a fast-paced production environment.
The Role:
As Maintenance Team Lead, you’ll take the lead on shift, managing a small team of engineers while remaining actively involved in fault-finding, preventative maintenance and breakdown response. You’ll be key to ensuring equipment uptime and site compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of multi-skilled engineers across rotating shifts
- Carry out hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repair
- Delegate daily tasks and ensure reactive and planned maintenance targets are met
- Support with training and development of junior team members
- Liaise with production teams to minimise downtime and prioritise maintenance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all H&S and food safety standards
What You’ll Need:
- Time-served maintenance engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills
- Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is desirable
- Strong problem-solving abilities and confident decision-making under pressure
- Willingness to work on a rotating day & night shift pattern
