Please note this is a full time role working Tuesday to Saturday 09:30 to 17:30. The training shift pattern will be Monday to Friday 09:30 till 17:30.
This is a great opportunity to join a food testing microbiology laboratory as a Junior Laboratory Analyst, the duties will involve:
- Preparation of media (agars etc.) to be used in microbiological analysis
- Sample preparation in line with company protocols
- Microbiological analysis of water/food/feed/swabs samples in line with company protocols
- Training and operation of relevant equipment
- General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination
- Accurate Data entry into laboratory database
- Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system
- Effective communication with all employees
- Report any anomalous results or situations to Line Manager
- Adhere to Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory
- Collection of laboratory samples from customer sites (food only, when required)
- Any other related activities as required by post
