Vickerstock are working in partnership with a heavy manufacturing business on the appointment of a Lead Production Planner on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent chance for someone to make the next step in their career into a supervisory role with added responsibility in a large scale manufacturing business.
As the Lead Production Planner, you will have responsible for overseeing the production planning and scheduling for builds, aftermarket wear and spare assemblies and New Product Development project builds. You will oversee a team of three compromising two production planners and one inventory controller.
Duties include:
- Create and load the build plan into the ERP system.
- Assign orders to new build slots or stock units by analysing lead times, customer expectations, production capacity and health and safety regulations.
- Chair weekly build plan meeting with relevant stakeholders to discuss and resolve issues.
- Coordinate between multiple departments to include production, order desk, engineering, shipping and purchasing to ensure orders are met and are on target.
- Liaise with the inventory planner to adjust safety stock levels of parts that reoccur as shortages.
- Release stock from production warehouse for critical customer orders and to increase invoicing and reduce lead times.
- Raise demand for long lead time items and highlight parts that may cause delays
What you will need to succeed:
- ERP System knowledge and experience is critical for this position (Infor M3 is advantageous)
- Experience with end to end ordering
- Ability to forecast, plan out build
- Experience in heavy manufacturing
