Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Newry, is currently looking to recruit a Financial Assessments Officer for an initial 4 month contract on a rate of £12.31/hour PAYE – working 37.5 hours per week. This role will be based in Newry.
Responsibilities:
– Maintain the security of all documents and information within the Financial Assessments team and systems to the highest standard
– Ensure that all correspondence, or other queries are dealt with according to Financial Assessments and Income department policies and procedures, and in a proper and prompt manner, referring to Financial Assessor as appropriate
– Assist the Financial Assessor in ensuring that all deadlines are adhered to e.g. daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations, monthly processing and reporting timetable and annual statutory accounts preparation
– Adhere to policies for the effective management, use and maintenance of all physical assets by the Financial Assessments team
– Participate in office routines including opening and sorting post, sorting and issuing invoices, statements and reports and preparing outgoing post
– Contribute to the department’s overall governance processes to ensure safe and effective care for patients and clients, complying with public sector values and codes of conduct, operations and accountability.
– Participate in the organisation’s performance and development reviews and advise on and initiate further training to fulfil the requirements of the post.
– Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in Financial Assessments and Income Department, Finance and across the organisation to ensure effective delivery of accounts receivable services
– Carry out other duties as required
Essential Skills:
– 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language and Maths equivalent / higher qualification AND 1 years’ experience in a clerical/ administrative role OR 2 years experience in a clerical/administrative role
– Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel or equivalent
– Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
– Ability to work as part of a Team.
– Ability to use own initiative.
– Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
– Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
– Knowledge and operational experience of Finance Systems
