Shortlisting Criteria
Essential:
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or operational environment, within power systems, utilities, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
•Hold, or be actively working towards, a Higher National Diploma (HND) in an appropriate technical discipline, or demonstrate the ability and commitment to undertake one*
•Demonstrate a practical understanding of electricity distribution networks.
•The ability to be able to positively influence safety behaviours and establish a safety culture.
•A strong technical and analytical ability plus a good working knowledge of the principles of power systems.
•Competent in the use of computer-based systems e.g. Microsoft Office applications / SCADA.
* Candidates not holding an applicable HND qualification must be able to demonstrate that they hold the prerequisite qualifications / experience to gain entry to an Electrical Engineering HND (e.g. Engineering (Electrical/Electronic Engineering) – P00205-AB – Course – Belfast Met) which they will be expected to commence at the next available opportunity.
Desirable:
•Developed knowledge of SCADA / Network Management systems.
•IET Accredited or working towards accreditation.
•SAP/SAIS or operational experience up to 33kV.
•Previous Control Room experience.
•Sound understanding of NIE Networks Safety Rules & Authorisations.
