We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our dedicated team. The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the planning, organisation and directing of projects from concept through the design, prototype, manufacturing, and commissioning stages. They are also responsible for ensuring that work meets established internal quality standards as well as customer specifications. McCloskey Environmental Team currently have an opportunity for Design Engineers to join their growing team! We have opportunity for Senior Engineers and Junior Engineers within the team. They will be responsible for undertaking design projects from concept through design, prototype, manufacturing, testing and commissioning stages. They maintain a high level of work ethic and attitude, and are able to work both as a team and individual to ensure that work meets established internal quality standards as well as customer specifications. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of innovative equipment. Improve existing products through analysis and benchmarking. Produce accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Investigate mechanical issues and recommend solutions. Drive quality and lean manufacturing improvements. Research new materials and production methods. Collaborate with Sales and Aftermarket on product enhancements. Manage and support a team of engineers, ensuring performance and development. Oversee daily operations and ensure team KPIs are met. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies. Support cross-functional projects as required. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: The successful applicant will be educated to degree standard or equivalent in Design Engineering or relevant discipline with demonstrated experience in the recycling and materials handling industry Must be proficient in MS Office (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Good working knowledge of Desk Top Publishing. Previous 3D CAD experience essential, preferably using Pro-Engineer or Creo. 2D Autocad experience advantageous. Outstanding communication required with excellent written and verbal skills. Proven attention to detail and a strong team player with proven experience of working collaboratively with a range of departments. Problem solving and time management skills required. Self motivated and organized. Prior experience being hands-on with machinery is advantageous.
