Financial Controller, Permanent Job, County Armagh, Salary up to £60,000

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of a small team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable managing everything from transactional accounting to high-level financial reporting and strategic planning.
Your new role
You will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for the following:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance – Oversee accurate monthly and annual financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies and oversee internal and external audits and liaise with auditors
- Hands-On Accounting Management – Managing the general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Maintain and improve accounting systems and controls and assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other regulatory filings
- Budgeting & Forecasting – Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis. Cash Flow Management and preparing cash flow forecasts and managing working capital effectively
- Business Partnering – providing financial insights and support to department heads and senior leadership
- Team Leadership – Supervise and mentor finance staff and oversee the training and development of team members
What you’ll need to succeed
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA) preferred
- 2 years PQE
- Experience in producing monthly management accounts, VAT and payroll
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
