You will be an active member of the Pharmaceutical Engineering Group to develop new, and support ongoing, research activities. This role involves supporting and advancing research activities through a combination of grant acquisition, project execution, scientific communication, and team collaboration. Key responsibilities include identifying and applying for research funding, contributing to the development and submission of grant proposals, and managing reporting for funded projects. The position requires designing and conducting experiments, staying updated with relevant literature, and developing innovative methodologies. Additionally, the role involves drafting scientific publications, presenting findings at conferences, mentoring junior researchers, and managing research timelines and compliance. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential, alongside administrative duties to support the smooth delivery of research projects. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: Hold a degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline (Minimum standard 2.1) Have, or be about to obtain* a PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (*must be obtained within 3 months of commencement of employment). Have substantial recent experience of solid-state analytical techniques including thermal analyses (DSC, TGA), PXRD, spectroscopic structural analyses (FTIR, Raman), in-vitro drug release methods, quantification assay development (UV-vis, HPLC). Have experience of preparing materials for publication in international scientific journals. Experience of preparing materials for dissemination at national and/or international conferences.
