VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a major multi-million pound company with the recruitment of a Procurement Officer to join their team based in Belfast. This is a temporary contract to cover a period of sickness expected to last for a minimum of 4 weeks. Salary £32,000 per year – £16.63 per hour. Responsibilities: To review, categorise, prioritise and action all Purchase Requisitions received from user departments. Management of purchase orders from order placement to delivery. To source and price goods and services as required. Dealing with enquiries from prospective suppliers. Assistance in tendering processes. Ownership of procurement document management systems; ensuring there is regular review and updates whilst highlighting any area of concern or action points. Contract management and review. Assist in performing governance role to ensure compliance with company policy and aide reporting of breaches under the policy. Ensure the efficient running of Stores. The Ideal Person: General Education to include GCSE Maths and English Grade C. At least 2 years’ relevant experience of procurement. Experience of working within an MRP/ERP platform. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages. Understanding of all aspects of the contracting process and experience of managing contracts. Able to satisfy security checks. Desirable Criteria: CIPS qualification or equivalent or actively working towards qualification. Knowledge of electronic tendering and contract management systems.
